The Carnation story…
A firm staple in the home since the 1980s, Carnation is renowned for its condensed milk. Since then, Carnation has launched a whole host of products, including these brand new drizzles which we experimented with for our own bakes!
In the 1880s, Johann Baptist Meyenberg worked for the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company in Switzerland. He had come up with an idea for a new process of sterilising and manufacturing unsweetened condensed milk (otherwise known as evaporated milk).
Johann’s boss wasn’t keen to pursue the idea further, so Johann decided to leave and move to the US in 1899. Johann launched Carnation canned evaporated milk alongside food retailers E. A. Stuart and Tom Yerxa that year!
Nestlé acquired the Carnation Company in 1984 and in 2003, they brought all of their milk products under one brand – Carnation.
At 123 years old, these guys sure know their stuff, so we were over the moon to collaborate with them over on our socials.
How we came to collaborate…
Having been admirers for a while, Carnation approached us here at the Bottled Baking Co., to ask if we would be interested in a joint collaboration on Instagram.
They sent us the ULTIMATE baking bundle, which included their condensed milk, a tin of vegan condensed milk and a caramel tin - as well as all of their new drizzles.
We gave the whole bundle away on our Instagram and it was hugely successful, with over 450 entries!
Here’s what we baked…
When Carnation mentioned they were launching a brand new vegan condensed ‘milk’, we thought this would be just perfect for our Vegan Chocolate & Walnut Brownie Mix.

When we received their brand new drizzles, the Caramel Sauce Drizzle really caught our eye. We just launched our Salted Caramel Cookie Mix as an exclusive for John Lewis, so thought - let's pair the two together!
We filled the inside of our cookies with their Caramel Carnation before drizzling the caramel sauce all over the finished bakes! Here’s how we did it 👇
